The Challenge: Breaking the 9-to-5 Retail Limit

"Luxury doesn't keep office hours. Why should a premium showroom?"

Context

Dekomag, a retailer of premium flooring and interior design solutions, faced a dilemma common to the luxury sector. High-end clients, architects, and designers often have busy schedules that don't align with traditional 9:00–18:00 store hours.

The Problem

Accessibility: clients wanted to view textures and materials in person, but couldn't make it during business hours.
Overhead: keeping a showroom open late or on weekends requires significant staffing costs.

The Goal

To create Romania's first 'Unmanned Showroom'—a space that feels exclusive and private, accessible anytime, without compromising security or the premium customer experience.

dekoMAG Autonom - Showroom interface showing how it works

The Solution: 'Phygital' Retail Architecture

We engineered a secure, automated ecosystem that turns a physical building into a smart digital interface.

The Smart Access System (Security First)

Identity Verification:

Before unlocking the door, users undergo a rapid digital KYC (Know Your Customer) process via the mobile web app. By scanning an ID, we ensure that every visitor is verified, deterring theft and vandalism.

Digital Keys:

No physical keycards. The user's smartphone becomes the encrypted key. A single tap in the browser triggers the electromagnetic lock via our custom API.

The 'Alive' Showroom (IoT Automation)

Ambient Intelligence:

The showroom is integrated with smart building controls. When a client enters: the security alarm disarms automatically, ambient lighting fades up to highlight specific product zones, background music initiates to set the mood.

Energy Efficiency:

The system detects when the user leaves, automatically arming the alarm and cutting non-essential power.

The Guided Experience (Digital Concierge)

QR Integration:

Every floor sample is tagged. Clients scan the product to see real-time stock, pricing, and technical specs on their phones.

Remote Assistance:

If a client has a question, a 'Call Expert' button connects them instantly via video call to a remote consultant, blending self-service with human touch.

Key Features Delivered

Dekomag ID: A proprietary web-based access system (no app download required for one-time visitors).
Smart Lock Orchestration: Custom bridge between the web backend and physical hardware (Nuki/Yale/Magnetic locks).
Video Surveillance Integration: Real-time logging of entry times synced with CCTV footage.
Seamless ERP Sync: Inventory data in the showroom is always live, synced with the central warehouse.

The Results

Sales Without Presence: Dekomag can now generate revenue and leads at 10 PM on a Sunday without paying overtime.
Enhanced Customer Experience: Architects and designers use the space as a private hub to meet their clients, offering an exclusive 'after-hours' viewing experience.
Market Leadership: Established Dekomag as the most innovative player in the Romanian home deco market.
